For a long time, Brandywine Estate Restaurant has been a firm favourite of Tortola residents and visitors alike. An institution on the fine dining scene in the British Virgin Islands, they serve up delicious Mediterranean classics with beautiful views across the channel. Frustratingly though, often charter guests found it difficult to get there. Faced with a potentially pricey taxi ride from one of the marinas on island, frequently they were reluctantly forced to skip it!
Brand new Dinghy Dock at Brandywine Restaurant
But that is all about to change! Determined to offer easy access to all of their guests, restaurateurs Claudine and Regis Bourdon have added a new dinghy dock in Brandywine Bay. Now charter guests have the perfect option for lunch and dinner, ideally situated close to many of the charter bases for either their first or last night on the boat.
A wonderfully calm and secure anchorage, Brandywine Restaurant also offers access to two mooring balls, with plans to extend this number to six very soon. Better still, the mooring balls are free of charge when you are dining with them!
Not to worry if they are already taken, there is still plenty of space for more boats in this safe overnight spot. Brandywine Bay is known to be surprisingly swell-free!
Last week they launched their new dock with a champagne reception to celebrate this exciting new development on the property. Sunset drinks on the dinghy dock followed by a short walk up to the restaurant for a quick bite to eat.
Representatives from the charter companies were delighted to learn more about this new addition and experience it for themselves.
Everything has been set up for the use of their guests, even shower facilities! There are steps up from the dinghy dock to the path and then a short uphill walk to the restaurant. The steps and the pathway are lit and it’s an easy stumble back to the boat after your dinner and a couple of cocktails!

Equidistant between marinas in Road Town and East End, the new moorings at Brandywine Bay offer an excellent option for charter guests at the beginning or end of their BVI vacation. Close to many of the charter bases it’s a quick and easy sail.
With fantastic food and stunning views, Brandywine is now an essential stop on your sailing itinerary!
Since Irma one of the biggest complaints of visiting boating guests is the shortage of mooring balls post-hurricane. The slightly political introduction of Boaty Ball has done little to alleviate this issue. Boaters must either reserving their ball first thing in the morning, or getting underway with plenty of time to make it to their next mooring.
